New Season!
Well, the 2017/18 season of the Liverpool & District Table Tennis League has begun! And to be fair, it hasn't been the best of starts for the Club! The 1st team don't have a match for the first 3 weeks of the season, the A team found themselves needing to bring in a substitute and paid the price, the B opened their account in a division higher than they expected, The C team forced to play 2 subs were bounced out of their match, The E team fought hard but just lost out, and what can you say of the F & G teams in Div 5, they are going to find life very tough - at least for the first half of the season. There was though one glimmer of light. The newly promoted D team opened their account in Div 3 with a very creditable 8:2 win, with snooker ace Les Dodd, tasting his first full season in this higher division, taking all 3 of his singles.
You can find all of the results on the club website under the 'League' section, or on the official website of the L&DTTL on TT365. It may not have been the best of weeks for results, but it seems that all of the teams have enjoyed their matches and are looking forward, in many cases, to improved performances in future weeks. Guess that is the main thing, enjoying playing. And what a great job Dave Noden has done this week, standing in for Club Secretary Graham Turner, and ensuring all of the match results are delivered to the League on time. That's one of the great things about Bath Street marine TTC, it has great people who really make a difference.
Apologies about this picture of our one successful team this week!
