Festive Fun

Festive Fun was the aim of the club Christmas Social, held at Marine on Friday 15th December, and that was what it certainly proved to be! A great evening of music, entertainment, and importantly, fund raising! Around 50 members and their guests attended, we even had our own elf, and of course Santa himself put in an appearance. And the great news is that it raised £500 towards the fund for a new club room.

Below, Santa appeared - from where no-one knows, who - no-one knows! But he was there! There was also our very own elf, she proved to be the star of the show capturing the hearts of all who saw her!  Granddad Bernard acted as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

A Great Night!

Our own singing star, Su Young, acted as the DJ and music host and encouraged some very interesting karaoke! Think the prize for star turn of the evening has to go to Keith Hardman for his spirited and well rehearsed rendition of the Tom Jones classic, "Delilah"! As well as music and karaoke, there was bingo played with playing cards and bottle tops, and prize 'last man standing' - also known as Irish bingo! And of course there was the mega prize draw; were the more prizes than tickets......? And of course, the bar was open so with nibbles and the odd drink or two there was every encouragement for a good time.

There is no doubt it was a great night, and with a tremendous financial outcome as far as the club is concerned. Our thanks go to the organizing social committee for putting together such an enjoyable evening.

Below there are a couple of clips, one featuring the evenings entertainment, or at least some snaps from it, the other some of the people who were there. Or at least those who allowed themselves to be captured on camera! Watch out for the boys at the bar!

Above, just of some of the entertainers and entertainment! Some of the karaoke was a real eye opener! John & Grace did a great job with the bingo, and Su entertained and looked after the music.

Below, see if you can spot yourself! But the question is, who was there who isn't in the clip......... entries on a postcard to the club secretary!
