Final Place for Liz

In the blog of 14 September our reporter, Shining Star, reported that Club member Liz Adams had been on holiday on a Cliff Richard cruise. What we didn't know at the time however, was that whilst cruising the Mediterranean on Holland America's MS Oosterdam, Liz entered the table tennis competition. She didn't unfortunately get to play Sir Cliff! But Liz is a very useful left-hander and using all her experience managed to reach the final! However she was a little cut up to be beaten in the final by a surgeon, not just any surgeon though, 'a lovely surgeon' according to Liz! So lovely in fact that he even offered Liz his prize, a bottle of wine. Thinking that he might have another operation in mind Liz politely refused his generous offer! Well done though Liz in reaching the final of the Sir Cliff Richard's Invitation Singles Tournament!
